The only national rail museum of its kind! The Canadian Museum of Rail Travel
features complete train sets representing various era of travel including the prestigious
million-dollar 1929 Trans Canada Limited.
The whole train including dining, sleeping and
solarium-lounge cars are on view.
Also on display is the 'Soo-Spokane Train Deluxe' of 1907. All of the museum cars
are famous for their stained glass and exotic inlaid woods.
The museum will be relocating to a larger site (Sept 2002) and facilities where the new
showpiece will be the 'Royal Alexandra Hall', the 3,000 sq ft oak-paneled original 'cafe'
from the grand 1906 CPR Royal Alexandra Hotel of Winnipeg. This room was saved when
the hotel was demolished in 1971.
Located in downtown Cranbrook on Highway 3/95.
