Silvery Slocan Museum

The Silvery Slocan Museum, formerly the Bank of Montreal.

Get acquainted with your ancestors, learn about the Slocan District, and spend time browsing at the Silvery Slocan Museum.

The main floor concentrates on the commerce aspects of the 1900's with a brick bank vault, the last of its kind, a collection of journals, business machines and memorabilia from the New Market Hotel. It also has new transportation exhibits.

The second floor depicts a Victorian sitting room and kitchen, furnishings from the early Slocan Community Hospital, and artifacts from the old Knox Church. There is a room dedicated to New Denver Japanese-Canadians.

There is an attendant and volunteers on hand to answer any questions about the museum and the fascinating history of the Slocan Lake area.

Hours of operation are weekends from May Day to Thanksgiving, 10am - 4pm.  Open  7 days a week in July and August.
