-
Representatives
from Kootenay Rockies staff attend several International Marketplace and various
Consumer Trade Shows. The entire region and all of its tourism products are
promoted to Tour Operators, Media and Consumers from around the world (i.e. Japan, Asia, Australia, New
Zealand, Europe, the UK, Canada, United States & more).
3)
Brochure
Distribution – Your
individual brochure will be mailed-out with the regional publications to the
destination visitor (upon request).
4) Enquiry Referral Service -
‘WHAT’S
NEW, What’s New, what’s new!’
We are asked this question on a daily basis from Tour Operators, Travel Agents,
Media and our Industry Partners (i.e. Tourism BC, Canadian Tourism Commission,
etc.).
Information is given to
these Industry Partners, in hopes of media stories for our region and new tour
routes for Tour Operators.
We will also include your ‘new product information’ in Tourism BC’s New Product
Bulletin. This publication is printed three times a year and is available in
hard copy and electronic format. The publication is made available to the
Travel Trade and Tourism BC’s partners.
5) Tour Operator Contacts -
Upon return from several ‘Tour Operator Marketplaces’, including Canada’s West
and Rendezvous Canada there are Sales Leads available to the ‘export ready’
Partners, enabling each Partner to complete a direct follow-up with each Tour
Operator.
6) Familiarization
Tour (FAMs) Coordination – With partnership with the CTC and Tourism BC, we
have the opportunity to showcase the region’s tourism products and services.
Kootenay Rockies Tourism assists with the coordination of FAM tours for both
Travel Trade and Media representatives. As a Partner you can choose to
participate in these FAMs on a request basis. In exchange for hosting Media,
Tour Operators and Travel Agents they have an opportunity to see your tourism
product & service and include it in their Tariff or write about their experience
in a newspaper and/or magazine.
7) Industry Networking Opportunities -
All Partners and Industry Supplers are invited to our Tourism Industry
Conference and Annual General Meeting. The meeting provides the Partners’ with
the year-end financial statements, a year-in-review, what’s new, guest speakers,
workshops and fun activities.
Partners are also encouraged to visit Tourism BC’s website to find out about
their organization, one of our ‘key’ Tourism Partners. Regional tourism
statistics are also available to view on
the
Tourism BC website (a
Profile of the Kootenay Rockies is
downloadable).
In addition,
all ‘Partners’ may participate in various marketing programs for which their
business is eligible.
These marketing programs are cost-shared by Tourism British Columbia.
Partners are able to promote their tourism business in regional publications,
consumer trade shows, magazine & newspaper campaigns and other projects. For
additional information on all of the programs, please view the
