Island Lake Lodge

Secluded in the peaks of Canada’s Kootenay Rockies, Island Lake Lodge sits above a picturesque mountain lake surrounded by an Old Growth Forest.

Hiking trails begin at the doorstep of the lodges gaining you access to gentle walks and adventurous peaks as well as the Lazy Lizard bike trail. The 7,000 acres of pristine wilderness  provides countless outdoor opportunities. Whether you are interested in a 30-minute stroll or a full day hike, Island Lake will help you reach your goal. Offering guided hikes, alongside a variety of spa, dining and accommodation packages, the wonders of Island Lake Lodge are yours to explore.

Cuisine

Island Lake Lodge has also been setting the standard for mountain cuisine for many years. The culinary team sources international influences and top quality products to create spectacular dining experiences. On select dates, the Tamarack Dining Room is open as well as their very own wine library.

Spa

The Spa at Island Lake Lodge offers a variety of spa treatments inspired by the breathtaking surrounding landscape.  The spa features 4 treatment rooms, retail boutique, a serene relaxation room, hot pool and outdoor sauna. Call for summer availability.

The Tamarack Lodge includes 8 deluxe guest rooms with spacious ensuite bathrooms. This lodge also includes the wellness spa facility and main dining room, with great views of the Lizard Range.

The Cedar Lodge also features 8 deluxe guest rooms. Each room hosts a patio and spacious ensuite bathroom. This lodge is complete with two beautifully appointed common rooms and cedar barrel sauna.

The Red Eagle Lodge is a standard but cozy log cabin with shared spaces over two floors, featuring 10 comfortable guest rooms with ensuite bathrooms. The lodge also has a large front deck and cedar barrel sauna.

Extensive updates were made to ILL’s guestrooms and common spaces in the Fall of 2023. Everything from what you do, see, taste and feel is an experience like no other in this intimate mountain setting. Don’t forget – Island Lake is off the grid! Don’t expect TVs, A/C or refrigerators in your room – it’s true backcountry.
