Official Contest Rules
Vacation Giveaway
The following promotion is intended for play in Canada (excluding Quebec) and the United States (excluding Colorado) and will be construed according to Canadian and US law. Please do not enter if you do not live in Canada or the United States.
- How to enter:
Eligibility for entry into the random draw begins at 5pm Mountain Time on Friday, March 1, 2024 and ends at 9am Mountain Time on Friday, May 31, 2024.
- To be entered into the draw you must subscribe to the Kootenay Rockies Travel Offers and Vacation Special Newsletter between March 1 and May 31, 2024.
Each individual that subscribes with their name, email and postal code is eligible for one (1) entry into the random draw. Multiple entries indicating the same name, same address and/or email address will be considered, for the purposes of this Contest, to belong to the same entrant and therefore are subject to the above restriction (one (1) entry). Any excess entries will be invalid for purposes of the random draw.
- No purchase necessary:
No purchase necessary. Subscribe to the Kootenay Rockies Newsletter by completing and submitting the online form.
- Eligibility:
Entrants must be legal Canadian (excluding Quebec) or US residents (excluding Colorado) who have reached the age of majority in their province or state of residence as of March 1, 2024. Employees of the Sponsor, its affiliates, marketing partners, suppliers, advertising or promotional agencies, and the immediate family members (mother, father, brother, sister, son, daughter, spouse) of, or persons residing in the same household as, any such person, are not eligible.
All federal, provincial, state and local laws and regulations apply. Void in Colorado & Quebec and where prohibited by law. Participation in this Contest constitutes Contestant’s full and unconditional agreement to and acceptance of these Official Contest Rules. Participants who do not comply with these rules are subject to disqualification.
- Prizes:
There is one (1) prize of a Vacation Giveaway as outlined here. The prize may not be substituted or altered in whole or in part for a prize of equal or greater value.
- Selection of winner(s):
On June 15, 2024, a random draw will be conducted by the Sponsor to select one (1) entry from all eligible entries received. Odds of winning are dependent upon the total number of eligible entries received. A Kootenay Rockies Tourism representative will attempt to contact the selected entrant by email once per day for five (5) business days. If the selected entrant cannot be contacted after five (5) business days or are contacted but are deemed to be ineligible at the Sponsor’s sole discretion, or unable or unwilling to comply with these rules, that selected entrant will be disqualified and another entry will be drawn. This process may be repeated until an entrant has been declared a winner.
For Canadian Residents only: Before being declared a winner, the selected entrant must first correctly answer, without assistance of any kind, whether mechanical or otherwise, a time limited mathematical skill testing question to be administered by email.
- Name of Prize Winner:
The name of the prize winner will be announced in a Kootenay Rockies Tourism Newsletter or you may email Kootenay Rockies Tourism at Info@KootenayRockies.com.
- Release:
Within fourteen (14) days of receipt thereof, the selected entrant will be required to sign and return the Sponsor’s Contest declaration and release form confirming compliance with Contest Rules and acceptance of the prize as offered; acknowledging the non-responsibility of the Sponsor, its agents and the prize suppliers in respect to injuries, accident, loss or misfortune relating to the Contest or the awarding of the prize; and, except where prohibited, acknowledging the Sponsor’s and its agents, subsidiaries or affiliates, the right to publish and/or broadcast the winner’s picture, name, address, voices, or statements without further compensation other than the prize offered. If prize documents are not returned within fourteen (14) days, prize will be forfeited and awarded to an alternative winner.
- Errors:
The Sponsor is not responsible for (i) entries which are lost, late, incomplete, (ii) telephone, technical, network, online, electronic, computer hardware or software failures of any kind; (iii) incomplete, garbled or delayed Internet/e-mail computer transmissions on account of technical problems or traffic congestions on the Internet or on any Website, or any combination thereof; (iv) any condition caused by events beyond its control, which disrupts or interferes with the Contest; (v) any injury, loss or damage of any kind arising out of the participant’s participation in the Contest or the acceptance, possession or use of the prize, including without limitation any injury or damage to participant’s or any other person’s computer relating to or resulting from participation or downloading any materials in this Contest.
The Sponsor extends absolutely no representations or warranties in respect of the prize. If for any reason the Contest is not capable of running as planned or if the administration, security, fairness, integrity, or proper conduct of the Contest is corrupted or adversely affected, including by reason of infection by computer virus, bugs, tampering, unauthorized intervention, fraud, technical failures, or any other causes beyond its control, the Sponsor reserves the right to cancel, terminate, modify or suspend the electronic portion of the Contest, including cancelling the method of entry, and randomly select the winner from previously received entries.
The Sponsor reserves the right to amend the terms of this contest without prior notice if any factor interferes with its proper conduct as contemplated by these Rules.
- Miscellaneous:
Prizes are not transferable and must be accepted as awarded with no substitutions, whether in cash or otherwise, expect at the Sponsor’s sole discretion. The Sponsor reserves the right to substitute a prize of equivalent or greater value if a prize cannot be awarded as described for any reason. Prize will only be awarded to the verified winner. All decisions of the Sponsor or their authorized representatives are final and binding in all matters relating to this Contest. In the event of a dispute regarding the identity of the person submitting an electronic entry, the entry will be deemed to be submitted by the person whose name appears on the electronic entry form.
