Saddle Mountain Lookout Trail in Nakusp ascends to a rocky knob above the treeline. It offers a panoramic view of the surrounding peaks and valleys. The first part of the hike winds through moist, mature cedar / hemlock forests, past an old cabin and the final ascent criss-crosses the open meadows below the knob. Alpine flowers are usually in bloom in July.
