This museum occupies a well-preserved 99 year old Canadian Pacific Railway Station. Once inside, you can almost feel the presence of passengers waiting to board the trains and the Station Agent’s residence offers an authentic glimpse into the early 1900s. The Museum also displays a wonderful collection of newspaper archives.
The on-site gift shop offers a wide range of gifts and collectibles – a variety of handmade items crafted by local area artisans including paintings and pottery are displayed and available for purchase.
The Castlegar property is beautifully landscaped and a wonderful spot to stop and have a picnic. There is plenty of parking space and the convenient location is close to downtown. The museum also offers internet access for visitors.
Open year-round, Tuesday through Saturday, 10 am to 5 pm.
