Completed in the summer of 2005, the Seven Summits Trail has quickly become one of the most sought-after cross-country/all-mountain rides in North America. The International Mountain Bike Association (IMBA) named the trail as one of its designated 2005 epic rides.
Built with funds raised through the Rossland Trails Society, the multi-use trail travels along a long ridge from Strawberry Flats north of town, passing along seven mountain summits (as the name suggests) on its way to the trails terminus to the southwest of Rossland.
The trail is 35 km (22 mi) long and will take most cyclists 7-9 hours to complete. Views of the surrounding countryside are well worth the effort.
Kootenay Mountain Biking offers a shuttle service so you can focus on the ride. Their mountain
shuttle convoys with your vehicle to the end of the trail head. Everyone jumps into their shuttle and then you get driven to the top of the trail, allowing you to ride the Seven Summits back to your vehicle at your own pace. For booking please visit Mountain Shuttle or call 250-362-0080.
