Sol Mountain Lodge sits at 1,900 m (6,300 ft) and smack in the middle of 30,000 acres of the southern Monashee snowbelt offering your own backcountry terrain park three times the area of Whistler – Blackcomb. Located south of Revelstoke and east of Silver Star.
From the lodge’s front door, you’ll find Monashee Provincial Park, offering dramatic skiing in alpine terrain surrounding Mount Fosthall, and Peter and Margie Lakes.
Head south and you’ll find Twin Peaks and Mount Baldur, each boasting summit-to-creek runs of 900 m (3,000 ft) and longer.
An excess of north facing glades will keep you finding soft silky snow long after the last storm.
All of this terrain – a complete mix of steep and moderate tree skiing, open glades, open alpine bowls, and steep alpine chutes – sits between 4,500 and 8,500 feet above sea level.
The lodge offers easy access to XC skiing and snowshoeing in surrounding rolling alpine meadows and gentle ridges above.
Summer months offer hiking the meadows, ridges and peaks, and fishing the surrounding alpine lakes. Vehicle access in the summer 2.5 hours from Revelstoke and 2 hours from Nakusp.
Sol Mountain offers mountain living in style with ten bedrooms and five bathrooms, spacious living area and stretch room both rimmed with large view windows.
Enjoy long alpine sunsets from the covered deck, and be sure to soak in the wood fired cedar sauna.
